Chances are, you’re an Anti-Fascist.

Standard

Never in a thousand years did I think I would hear people demonizing Anti-Fascists. From racists with tiki torches all the way to politicians, it’s been one giant smear campaign, especially since the Fuhrer started his campaign. Hell, Senator Ted Cruz sacked up and submitted a bill decrying Anti-Fascists as a terrorist group.. despite far-right groups such as the KKK not being deemed the same.

The sheer absurdity of it is astounding. Depending on your source, white supremacists murdered 40 (The Independent) to 50 (ADL) people in 2018. Guess how many murders Anti-Fascists committed? ZERO. Hell, a large amount of the mass shootings here and around the world, a vast majority of them had links to far-right groups. Yet, here come Americans, afraid of people who fight against racism, fascism and homophobia.

The funniest part about all of this, is that Antifa isn’t a giant group. We don’t have decoder rings or membership patches, there’s no uniform, and there are broad politics & belief systems across the board. There isn’t a Tuesday night pizza night, and there isn’t a Friday Night raffle for “Left-Wing-Extremists” only. Why? Because this country’s default position used to be Anti-Fascist.

Hell, unless you ARE looking for a decoder ring, you might already be one of the scary Antifa! Do you yell at your friends when they make racist comments or jokes while hanging out? You’re Antifa. Do you help out your community or donate your time regardless of who receives the benefits? Yup, Antifa. Do you get disgusted when you see a swastika carved into a bathroom stall? Also Antifa. Do you try and peel off or cover up white power stickers when you see them? Still Antifa. Do you believe that literal nazis walking down the street chanting “Jews will not replace us!” is wrong? Antifa. Do you write, draw images, design stickers that denounce racism, homophobia and fascism? Antifa. Have you given the finger to a racist asshole in the general public? Antifa. Have you, or would you punch, pour a milkshake on, or throw trash at a nazi? Antifa.

That’s the danger of demonizing the Anti-Fascist movement. You’re not just demonizing the people who dress in black with a bandana over their face, you’re also demonizing the school teacher that teaches kids that all races, sexes, and orientations are equal. You’re not just putting down a person who dumped a milkshake on a fash supporter, you’re also demonizing a teenager who tells their racist classmate to shut the fuck up. You’re not just shitting on the person who punched Richard Spencer, an admitted White Nationalist, in the face, you’re also demonizing your neighbor down the street who is appalled at the not-concentration-camp conditions at the border.

Sure, if you disagree with dousing a nazi in silly string, or punching a fascist, no one is making you. However, in our country, up until recently, we de-platform fascists. That ranges from peeling the swazi sticker off of a stop sign, to marching in pride events to protect pride goers from the Nazis that seem to swarm to them. That even includes reporting a fascist on Twitter or Facebook, or giving one the finger.

Americans are basically getting mad at their own communities for fighting back against fascists. Why get mad when a community organizes a small group of people to counter-protest people waiving the Nazi Flag? Why get mad when a community gets together are chases the KKK out? You don’t like the fact that someone might get punched? Well, we should probably talk to all of the WW2 vets and their families, since they fought an entire war based on “The Only Good Nazi is a Dead Nazi”.

Fascists, White Nationalists, Nazis, whatever you want to call them, MURDER people and destroy communities and countries.. yet our country, our government wants to notate anyone who may fall under the Anti-Fascist stroke as a terrorist? Wake the hell up. If we could STOP voting Nazis into office and start denouncing racism when we see or hear it, we wouldn’t even be in this predicament.

In the meantime, before you shit on Anti-Fascism.. realize that that’s how all Americans SHOULD be. Think about what Anti-Anti-Fascism is.

Spoiler: It’s Fascism.

The Fall of American Democracy – The Rise of the Resistance and of Hope

Standard

Note: This will be mostly free write, with most likely few sources. I have been struggling to put my thoughts into a coherent order for days now, but have only been able to muster disgust and anger.

“If you want water, just drink from a toilet.”
-Border Patrol to a woman in custody at Southern Border

Have you ever felt utterly disgusted in your country? I have. I do. Every single time I think that things will get better, something else pops up, and I feel like vomiting. Whether it’s hearing interviews with detained immigrants about their treatment in our Concentration Camps or seeing how Border Patrol acts via a Facebook Group: Propublica Article, it disgusts me.

Then we have our so-called Christian President and Vice President championing this behavior, this crisis, that their administration CAUSED. We have people who are crammed in a room built for half the number, which leaves them only able to stand, for DAYS, and these god damned Christians are fucking cheering it on.

Vice Article on Camp Conditions

I read these articles, I watch the videos, and I’m disgusted. Yet, some Americans believe it’s “Fake News”. Some just don’t give a shit, and some even LIKE it. I watched a video a little while ago of a Grandmother from SoCal that was trying to drop off toys to a camp being detained.

Between the camps and SCOTUS refusing to rule on Gerrymandering (PDF from SCOTUS), and Americans just burying their heads in the proverbial sand, America’s version of Democracy is dying.

And. No. One. Cares.

At least not enough of us. Hell, currently America is so convinced that Antifa is a terrorist group, yet they won’t fucking say shit about the fascist pieces of shit who attack people every day. America is so goddamned scared of “brown immigrants” that we’re turning our cheek while we erect concentration camps on our border. America is so god damned weak right now, we’re letting politicians change their districts so they can get more votes for their party.

It’s sickening.

However there is hope, it’s just ever so hard to hold on to these days. In my rage against organized religion, especially in relation to our current events, I stumbled into what I refer to as “Religious Twitter”. All of a sudden I’m reading the tweets from a Rabbi.

I found a woman of faith, who was speaking out. Who was outraged, who not only raised her voice for what she believed was right, she used her faith to back her up. (She also posts a lot of information regarding Judaism, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Education is always a plus.) Before I knew it, I was coming across different Rabbis, Pastors, and even a Priest who were fighting for these immigrants, against racism, sexism and antisemitism.

Then This!

Needless to say, my opinion about organized religion has been rocked a bit, and these people have given me a bit of hope. I have always had faith in antifa fighting the good fight, and I have faith in the politicians who are standing up and strong, and I have faith in the people who have been screaming with me. Having a bit more faith helps.

It’s just daunting, it’s simply disgusting how our country is behaving, how our government is behaving. It’s hard to watch democracy fall. It’s painful.

Yet, not all Americans will be on the wrong side of history when our grandchildren read about it. It’s hope, and more importantly, it’s a hell of a start.

United States of America 2017 Edition: Nazis and Fascism.

Standard

Fuck.

Fuck. Fuck. Fuck fuck fuck fuck. What the fuck. God damn fucking Nazis.

I thought I was appalled last night when the baby Nazis marched at the college.

Nazi March

(from wn.com) – I am so proud of those college kids, so much for this generation being fragile snowflakes eh?

I thought that would be the worst of the “Unite the Right” bullshit, I thought the worst we’d deal with today was some overweight KKK members and god damn Nazis running around.

I was wrong.

(I am having a very hard time actually writing my thoughts out on this one.. I am. My brain is just screaming FUCK!)

The posts/notifications started flooding in this morning, counter-protesters and the goddamn Nazis were clashing. Well. Yeah, I expected that. I just monitored what was going on and was impressed with the amount of antifa protesters that were out there.

As time went on, some of my Facebook groups started alerting about brawls breaking out. I started paying more attention, how could I not? Video, Audio, and frantic FB/Twitter posts were flying, Fights. Nazis jumping protesters, college kids, anyone. Assault locations, and safe streets/alley ways to meet and get into a group.

Then, the video. You know what video I’m talking about. I’m not going to link to it at this point, because:

  • Three people died in that incident, and their family and friends should not have to see the crash repeatedly, so I won’t contribute.
  • The Alt-Right (aka: God Damn Nazis) are already disputing what has happened, and at this rate I’m not going to argue with anyone over it.
  • BECAUSE FUCK THIS! WHY THE FUCK AM I EVEN HAVING TO WRITE ABOUT THIS SHIT IN 2017!!

I hoped onto my Facebook groups and was immediately accosted with several cell phone videos of the accident. After watching/reading about Nazis marching, swastika flags waving, Spencer getting maced (yay), I watched a car plow through a packed street, through people in my own country.

I read through Trump’s (FUCKTRUMP) statement. Our “President” refusing to even ACKNOWLEDGE that Nazis were marching, that swastika flags were waiving in Charlottesville, that we had a TERROR ATTACK on our own soil.

I scrolled through pictures of wounded men and women being treated by EMTs, I scrolled past the (soon to be) iconic picture of the Black Police Officer guarding the KKK. I scrolled past tears, dead, and god damn nazi’s chanting. I scrolled past posts from stormfront applauding the president. I scrolled past men marching with quotes from Hitler on their jackets/shirts and swazis on their arm bands.

IN MY OWN COUNTRY. HERE.

Racism has never gone away, I’m not sure it ever will. I had honestly never expected that large of a KKK/Alt-Right rally in my lifetime… much less .. all of it. Everything. This is the kind of thing that’s not supposed to happen anymore.

So I’m stuck. In my suburban haven above Chicago. Explaining Nazis to my 10 year old, and worrying about my grandchildren reading about how much of a failure our generation has become in their history books. I’m stuck, wanting to help, wanting to do anything at all, wanting to make a stand. Lace up my grinders, and march, fight. Yet.. I’m here. With my family, far away from anything. Talk about feeling useless.

Those of us who have families to protect, and logistical issues.. we CAN do something. We can educate, we can fight back with intelligence. We can fight back with facts and exposure. We can TEACH our children how horrible racism is, and help them see past color and hate and violence, and embrace each other so maybe some day this will be a distant memory, never to happen again on our soil.

We can show everyone what’s happening. There are plenty of people on my friend’s list alone, followers of this blog and many others, who are simply putting their heads into the proverbial sand and pretending this isn’t happening. We can make the United States and the POTUS face what our country has become. This is not something to be ignored, racism, Nazis, HATE must be stopped.

So those of us at home, those of us who can’t march, we can inform. We can move forward. We will make the world change, one child, one person at a time.

Fuck Racism, Fuck Nazis, Fuck the KKK, Fuck the Alt-Right, and FUCK THIS SHIT.

NOT HERE.
