“I think any Jewish people that vote for a Democrat, I think it shows either a total lack of knowledge or great disloyalty.” – President Trump

So yesterday, Trumps comments regarding Jewish Democrats went viral throughout every social media platform I take part in. I couldn’t help to think about how Hitler and his party’s propaganda machine started out by dehumanizing Jews and accusing them of not being loyal to the state.

However, Trump and his administration actively dehumanize people every day, and whenever they’re not writing executive orders to take away the rights of every day people, Trump is parroting comments straight out of Goebbels handbook. It’s starting to become so consistent, so repetitive, that his comments and actions are doing exactly what they’re supposed to. Normalizing his behavior.

Screenshot_20190821-160838_Twitter.jpg

Then he tweets out this nonsense someone said about him. Our president thought it was appropriate that he tweet out that he was “like the second coming of God” and that he’s like the “King of Israel”. Naturally “King of the Jews” and “King of Israel” started trending. I read this via a couple of Rabbis who tweeted out their horror regarding the above tweet. All of a sudden my coffee didn’t taste as good as it had.

After 3 mass shootings in the last month and change, weekly arrests of white supremacists planning more mass shootings, and watching my fellow citizens turn on immigrants, Jews, Black people and anyone who doesn’t agree with them just… has me disillusioned. Watching people demean and dehumanize anti-fascist counter protesters to white supremacist groups, calling them terrorists and then literally getting mad when they defend themselves and their communities against violence.. it just makes me sick.

When I was a little girl, in my little bubble of my lower middle class community, I was taught about a different America. I was taught that America was free. I was taught that America fought against fascism, racism, and hatred. I was taught by everyone from my teachers to my church, that America was good! That people traveled from around the world to live here, free from persecution and violence, to receive an education and live in peace to practice their religion of choice and live the life they wanted to lead. I was taught that America was a melting pot, where all races were welcome, and that we could only strive to be better despite our past abuses. I believed it.

It was a lie.

Every day it’s something new. Some new bill is introduced to take away my healthcare. Democrats are laughed at for wanting to help people with student debt. Nazis are marching on our towns, meanwhile the Right keeps parroting that there aren’t really Nazis in America, and that we have to respect their opinions despite those opinions being that a large amount of use shouldn’t exist much less live on American soil. Our president publicly mocks his opponents, which results in death threats. He will proclaim the media to be the “Enemy of the State” almost weekly. We’re detaining undocumented immigrants, while the Trump administration tries to make it indefinitely, and then refusing them vaccinations; essentially insuring more deaths this flu season.

Through all of this, the vast majority of Americans don’t care. Or worse, they support all of these atrocious actions, if not take part in it themselves. America hasn’t learned from the past, nor has it learned from the History books. We’re enabling all of this, and frankly, I’m ashamed.

That doesn’t mean that I’ll give up by any means. That doesn’t mean that any of us who consider this country our home, those of us who have good in our hearts should give up. I just needed to get this off of my chest, and I know a lot of you are feeling the same. We have to do better, before it’s too late.

“Don’t like this country? Leave!” – An Anti-American Statement

Standard

It’s almost as if this country is indeed sowing it’s own destruction. As time continues, more and more people are picking up “President” Trump’s statements telling Americans, that if they don’t like what’s going on in the United States, that they should leave. You can see it all over the news, social media and even in real life.

The problem with that, beyond the racist undertones, is that telling people who are not happy with what their government is doing, to just get the hell out is Anti-American. A key part of being American is that we stand up for what we believe is right. Americans don’t just move when shit isn’t going the way we want it to, we stand up and fight. The American people saw a problem with the direction the US is heading, and decided that hey, let’s change that. They elected several new congressmen and women, as is their duty as citizens. Americans have taken to the streets to protest everything from the restrictions placed on women’s healthcare to the “not-concentration camps”, because yet again, Protest is Patriotism. Americans as a whole, have not only the right, but the duty to stay and work on their country and government.

So when citizens do exactly that, when they state that something in our country isn’t acceptable, when they vote people in that work for things they agree with, when they decry fucking human rights abuses, they get told to leave. When an American does something that is their constitutionally given right, not to mention their duty, they’re told “If you don’t like it, go back to where you came from”. (Then of course, insert racist undertones.) Literally telling an American to get out of their own country isn’t only fascistic, it’s not un-American, it’s Anti-American.

It’s also important to point out, for the sake of outing hypocrisy did everyone block out Obama’s entire administration? You know, where the Republicans, Tea Partiers, and Extreme Right lost their collective shit for 8 years straight? You know, where they held the birther movement, claimed democrats were ruining the country because muslims, burned and hung effigies of our President? If they didn’t like it, they should have just left. Fucking hypocrites. They continuously shit on the president, his family, and the democrats left in congress for 8 FUCKING YEARS.. yet when we shit on Trump for acting like a fascist, we get told to leave.

Fuck off with that shit.

Just like many others, I’m about fed up with the Trump Supporters consistent hate rhetoric and blatant, unapologetic hypocrisy. I guess this is more a sheer rant, because I’m tired of their shit. I’m tired of the racism, I’m tired of the sexism, I’m tired of the homophobia, I’m tired of kids in cages, I’m tired of American kids starving because they cut food stamps. I’m tired of the GOD DAMNED President continuing to spew racially charged propaganda that the damned nazis are just eating up.

Guess what MAGA cunts, none of us are going ANYWHERE. We’re done with your Anti-American bullshit. I’M DONE WITH THE BULLSHIT.

We’re all fucking Americans, we’re here to fight for our country, and we’re not going to give up.

Chances are, you’re an Anti-Fascist.

Standard

Never in a thousand years did I think I would hear people demonizing Anti-Fascists. From racists with tiki torches all the way to politicians, it’s been one giant smear campaign, especially since the Fuhrer started his campaign. Hell, Senator Ted Cruz sacked up and submitted a bill decrying Anti-Fascists as a terrorist group.. despite far-right groups such as the KKK not being deemed the same.

The sheer absurdity of it is astounding. Depending on your source, white supremacists murdered 40 (The Independent) to 50 (ADL) people in 2018. Guess how many murders Anti-Fascists committed? ZERO. Hell, a large amount of the mass shootings here and around the world, a vast majority of them had links to far-right groups. Yet, here come Americans, afraid of people who fight against racism, fascism and homophobia.

The funniest part about all of this, is that Antifa isn’t a giant group. We don’t have decoder rings or membership patches, there’s no uniform, and there are broad politics & belief systems across the board. There isn’t a Tuesday night pizza night, and there isn’t a Friday Night raffle for “Left-Wing-Extremists” only. Why? Because this country’s default position used to be Anti-Fascist.

Hell, unless you ARE looking for a decoder ring, you might already be one of the scary Antifa! Do you yell at your friends when they make racist comments or jokes while hanging out? You’re Antifa. Do you help out your community or donate your time regardless of who receives the benefits? Yup, Antifa. Do you get disgusted when you see a swastika carved into a bathroom stall? Also Antifa. Do you try and peel off or cover up white power stickers when you see them? Still Antifa. Do you believe that literal nazis walking down the street chanting “Jews will not replace us!” is wrong? Antifa. Do you write, draw images, design stickers that denounce racism, homophobia and fascism? Antifa. Have you given the finger to a racist asshole in the general public? Antifa. Have you, or would you punch, pour a milkshake on, or throw trash at a nazi? Antifa.

That’s the danger of demonizing the Anti-Fascist movement. You’re not just demonizing the people who dress in black with a bandana over their face, you’re also demonizing the school teacher that teaches kids that all races, sexes, and orientations are equal. You’re not just putting down a person who dumped a milkshake on a fash supporter, you’re also demonizing a teenager who tells their racist classmate to shut the fuck up. You’re not just shitting on the person who punched Richard Spencer, an admitted White Nationalist, in the face, you’re also demonizing your neighbor down the street who is appalled at the not-concentration-camp conditions at the border.

Sure, if you disagree with dousing a nazi in silly string, or punching a fascist, no one is making you. However, in our country, up until recently, we de-platform fascists. That ranges from peeling the swazi sticker off of a stop sign, to marching in pride events to protect pride goers from the Nazis that seem to swarm to them. That even includes reporting a fascist on Twitter or Facebook, or giving one the finger.

Americans are basically getting mad at their own communities for fighting back against fascists. Why get mad when a community organizes a small group of people to counter-protest people waiving the Nazi Flag? Why get mad when a community gets together are chases the KKK out? You don’t like the fact that someone might get punched? Well, we should probably talk to all of the WW2 vets and their families, since they fought an entire war based on “The Only Good Nazi is a Dead Nazi”.

Fascists, White Nationalists, Nazis, whatever you want to call them, MURDER people and destroy communities and countries.. yet our country, our government wants to notate anyone who may fall under the Anti-Fascist stroke as a terrorist? Wake the hell up. If we could STOP voting Nazis into office and start denouncing racism when we see or hear it, we wouldn’t even be in this predicament.

In the meantime, before you shit on Anti-Fascism.. realize that that’s how all Americans SHOULD be. Think about what Anti-Anti-Fascism is.

Spoiler: It’s Fascism.

The Fall of American Democracy – The Rise of the Resistance and of Hope

Standard

Note: This will be mostly free write, with most likely few sources. I have been struggling to put my thoughts into a coherent order for days now, but have only been able to muster disgust and anger.

“If you want water, just drink from a toilet.”
-Border Patrol to a woman in custody at Southern Border

Have you ever felt utterly disgusted in your country? I have. I do. Every single time I think that things will get better, something else pops up, and I feel like vomiting. Whether it’s hearing interviews with detained immigrants about their treatment in our Concentration Camps or seeing how Border Patrol acts via a Facebook Group: Propublica Article, it disgusts me.

Then we have our so-called Christian President and Vice President championing this behavior, this crisis, that their administration CAUSED. We have people who are crammed in a room built for half the number, which leaves them only able to stand, for DAYS, and these god damned Christians are fucking cheering it on.

Vice Article on Camp Conditions

I read these articles, I watch the videos, and I’m disgusted. Yet, some Americans believe it’s “Fake News”. Some just don’t give a shit, and some even LIKE it. I watched a video a little while ago of a Grandmother from SoCal that was trying to drop off toys to a camp being detained.

Between the camps and SCOTUS refusing to rule on Gerrymandering (PDF from SCOTUS), and Americans just burying their heads in the proverbial sand, America’s version of Democracy is dying.

And. No. One. Cares.

At least not enough of us. Hell, currently America is so convinced that Antifa is a terrorist group, yet they won’t fucking say shit about the fascist pieces of shit who attack people every day. America is so goddamned scared of “brown immigrants” that we’re turning our cheek while we erect concentration camps on our border. America is so god damned weak right now, we’re letting politicians change their districts so they can get more votes for their party.

It’s sickening.

However there is hope, it’s just ever so hard to hold on to these days. In my rage against organized religion, especially in relation to our current events, I stumbled into what I refer to as “Religious Twitter”. All of a sudden I’m reading the tweets from a Rabbi.

I found a woman of faith, who was speaking out. Who was outraged, who not only raised her voice for what she believed was right, she used her faith to back her up. (She also posts a lot of information regarding Judaism, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Education is always a plus.) Before I knew it, I was coming across different Rabbis, Pastors, and even a Priest who were fighting for these immigrants, against racism, sexism and antisemitism.

Then This!

Needless to say, my opinion about organized religion has been rocked a bit, and these people have given me a bit of hope. I have always had faith in antifa fighting the good fight, and I have faith in the politicians who are standing up and strong, and I have faith in the people who have been screaming with me. Having a bit more faith helps.

It’s just daunting, it’s simply disgusting how our country is behaving, how our government is behaving. It’s hard to watch democracy fall. It’s painful.

Yet, not all Americans will be on the wrong side of history when our grandchildren read about it. It’s hope, and more importantly, it’s a hell of a start.

Ignorance of Politics/Current Affairs

Standard

Quotefancy-1807678-3840x2160

Back when I was still an angsty teenager, I had a current affairs class. We brought up current affairs and discussed recent news in class as well as learned how to debate. I, in all my teenage glory, lashed out at my teacher regarding news in the middle east, and screeched about why should I even give a damn. My teacher provided the above quote, and I’ve referenced it every few years since.

A lot of people in this country purposely ignore the news, whether it’s about the Midwest farmers struggling or what moronic thing our government has done that day. It’s a privilege that people believe they have, as surely x, y & z will not effect us!  However, that is most definitely not the case even in the broadest of instances.

When you go to the grocery store, and marvel at the prices of food as they increase, if you’d turn on the news, you’d know why. If you see someone filming a police officer making an arrest, if you paid attention to current events, you’d know why. If you rage about getting a ticket for code compliance for something you’d never gotten a ticket for before, reading your town’s newsletter might explain that (or your code compliance officer is a dick like our neighborhood’s).

On the larger scale of current events, it’s even more important to pay attention, in my opinion that is.

When your country is ordering “retaliation” against other countries, you might want to pay attention. Even if you agree, this might effect your family in numerous ways. It could result in a loved one being sent over seas in the military, it could effect your income and prices of goods.

When your government is detaining people in camps, regardless of what you would call the camps, not only should this appall you, but you should pay attention. If your government will detain people that they don’t agree with, regardless of laws, what’s to say that they wouldn’t detain you and your family in the future.

Things you don’t pay attention to effect your daily life quite easily.

Regardless of where you stand with politics and our current laws, hell even our Constitution, knowing your laws, knowing your party/country’s stance on certain things is essential. Why? Every time a new person is elected, they have the opportunity to change those laws, your rights.

Something to always keep in mind is that a country doesn’t always change via a coup or by some other drastic means. Sometimes it’s a very slow, gradual change. So keep your eyes open, that way if your country goes in a direction you don’t like, you’re aware and in a position to do something.

As always, Nazi-Germany is a great example. Do you think that one day people woke up and knew that their neighbors were being carted off to the gas chambers? Nope, because that’s not what happened. First there was rhetoric and propaganda. That progressed to deportations. From there, detention camps started, a la concentration camps. Once labor wasn’t the easiest solution, death camps were created. It wasn’t an overnight thing, it was gradual.. and everything starts somewhere.

The argument that it doesn’t effect you, is almost always null. Politics effect you, whether or not you like it, whether or not you pay attention. In order to understand the world around you, understand the things that are happening and have happened, you have to pay attention.

So please. Pay attention before it’s too late.

Make Orwell Fiction Again

twisted-sister.godaddysites.com

It wasn’t too long ago, when I wouldn’t have considered adding the “Make Orwell Fiction Again” sticker to my car. I might’ve chuckled about it, maybe even sent it to a friend who could appreciate it. However, I truly felt that our country was making strides in equality, laws and fair elections. (Spoiler: I doubt I will ever be truly happy with our Republic as I don’t agree with certain kinds of laws. I was however happy that it seemed like an attempt was made to improve our country for everyone.)

Yet, when I wake up in the morning to check the news, there is so much god damned BULLSHIT going on in our country, that I’m quickly losing faith in our ability to turn it around.

For example, do you remember when Camp Sill was reopened during the Obama Administration as a migrant camp and a large chunk of our country collectively shit a brick? Well. You might not. It seems that most people have no idea that even happened, or even that it was a Japanese Internment Camp. (Although the Army, not the rest of the world mind you, still states it only held prisoners of war.) It lasted for 4 months before being shut down again. Now? The Trump Administration is planning on housing 1,400 CHILDREN there.

That’s right. We’re putting children in an old camp that was either A. An Internment Camp for Japanese Americans or B. a camp for war criminals depending on your view. Why is that? I suppose it’s because we jump, skipped and landed face first into fascism with out anyone noticing.

Our country has had a lot of dark times. Ranging from slavery to the internment of the Japanese, to outright racism towards different groups like the Irish, African Americans, Germans and Mexicans. Depending on what decade you pick we had a different flavor of racism (oft times more than one), slavery or war atrocities.

Someone who has been speaking out about his experience in a Japanese Interment Camp is George Takei : Interview with Democracy Now!

The fact that Americans are not alarmed by this is so fucking stupid. World War 2 wasn’t that long ago, shit, segregation was even more recent! God fucking dammit, you guys already forgot about the atrocities committed at Guantanamo Bay? We start making progress.. moving forward and bettering ourselves.. and then over the course of two years, we’re back to where we started.

Houston Camp Conditions : Buzzfeed
In this article there are quotes from immigrants who compare their treatment to that of dogs, who are dismayed because they thought America was better than this.

Teen Mother & Her Premature Newborn Neglected For A Week In Border Patrol Custody : Refinery29
This is just more proof that not ALL life matters, as no one clearly cares about the “brown kids”. Fuck off Pro-Life Republicans. Eat my ass.

So here we are. 2019, and I’m watching women lose their rights, all around discrimination and racism, and kids being locked into an interment camp. The Orwell sticker has a place on my car now. We’re at the point where Americans should be rising up, protesting this disgusting regime (hopefully before we start a war with Iran) …

64286458_2509818599061041_6924378890592845824_n

… but we know that won’t happen. We literally have a president who has “joked” about extending his term (which by the way is NOT LEGAL) several times now, and Americans are just like “Meh”. We literally have children DYING in our not-concentration-camps.. and half of America is CHEERING. Most of those are CHRISTIANS. We are threatening Iran with war, over an attack we can’t even prove was from them. We are gearing up for yet another pointless war, and half of Americans are basically frothing at the mouth.

So my question is no longer “When are Americans going to stand up for what is right?”

How could it be? Americans are calling for concentration camps to be normalized, because “they should’ve known before they came here” or.. “That’s not what a concentration camp is!! Stop being an alarmist!!”

Screenshot 2019-06-17 at 1.17.24 PM

How could it be, when Americans are defending LITERAL NAZIs parading down our streets? How could it be, when Americans scoff when the president makes jokes about breaking key parts of our constitution? How could it be, when Americans cheer as rights are stripped from women and the LGBTQ+ community?

My question is now, how far will America fall, before it burns?

Early 2019: The Political Climate & Creeping Towards Fascism

Standard

Disclaimer: I am not fully discussing the Mueller Report, but I have read it. If you would like a PDF copy of it, you can find it on the DOJ website, or you can comment and I’ll send it to you.

I’ve been screeching about Fascism & the United States Government for months now. I’m not the only one, although a lot more people are now also alarmed recently. In my opinion, our government, under the Trump Administration, is straddling the fence between our distinctive form of Democracy and Fascism.

Of course there is the uptick in hate-rhetoric and general nazis, but that’s not entirely what I’m screaming about today.

Screenshot 2019-04-19 at 6.49.13 PM

I’m referring directly to President Donald Trump and his administration.

As I’m sure you all know, the Mueller Report was released yesterday. I quickly obtained the searchable PDF version from friends (the one on the DOJ website is NOT a searchable version) and sat down with coffee, a notebook and a pen and started reading. 8 hours later I got through 4/5 of it. Yes, it’s that huge.

Inside of it, is tons of information in each volume, which there are two. The first volume covered Russia influencing our election and the idea that Trump committed conspiracy. They did NOT find evidence that Trump committed conspiracy, but there were several others whom they looked into, from the top of the food chain to the bottom. Donald Trump Junior was not charged because he purely didn’t understand or was ignorant of what he was doing and was involved in. (I had a good chuckle at that, he was essentially too stupid to be charged!) Most importantly it detailed just how far Russia went to infiltrate our elections.

Volume two covered obstruction by the President, and cited 10 examples which were then followed with how they did or did not qualify to the legal requirements of obstruction. It was damning. However, the special counsel did NOT make a judgement and left it open to congress and the AG. Posted below is a photo of the conclusion (I did not take it, but am posting this as I’m refusing to open that damn report again today) where you can clearly see that the report does NOT exonerate him.

Screenshot 2019-04-19 at 7.29.04 PM

Either way. The report has been released (granted it is SEVERELY redacted in parts) to both the public and congress, and outside of Trump’s base people are horrified. The report lists 10 examples or “keys” that if nothing else show Trump attempting to cover up, lie, or misconstrue information as well as trying to get Robert Mueller removed from the investigation and to close the investigation.

Which if you didn’t know, is shady.. as fuck.

People are outraged (and frankly they’re not all “libtards”.. it’s pretty far across the board) and an article of impeachment as been introduced into the House.

Now that that’s stated, (and don’t argue, I’ll just send you a copy of the report) here’s why I’m especially alarmed today.

Since the investigation concluded and we were made aware of it back in March, Trump has been parroting “NO COLLUSION – TOTAL EXONERATION!!”. Almost a full month of the same crap. Which whatever, is essentially what AG Barr had stated in his original presser, and then again yesterday morning before he released the report. (I do want to go ahead and point out that he’s NOT supposed to be acting in Trump’s best interest, but the country’s. Yet, he came out and attempted to spin it in favor of Trump, which people are still dissecting and disproving.)

However, once the report got released, and not only painted Trump, his family and his administration in a very bad light, but stated he was NOT exonerated by the report, Trump has gone into a rage. One that I consider very scary.

(Also, screenshotting Trump is HIGHLY annoying as he still hasn’t figured out how to create a thread on twitter after all these years.)

The last tweet, with the highlighted part, is what I’m concerned about. He has spouted this kind of rhetoric before, and his supporters cherish it (they’re still suggesting hanging anyone who was part of this investigation on Reddit, Twitter & Facebook). However, he has actually used the word “justice” in regards to all of this, purely because his administration was put under the microscope, and he came out slightly dirty.

We cannot label investigators “dangerous” yet. Do you know why?  We are lucky enough to still have a working government. We are lucky enough that when the suspicion of corruption/conspiracy came up (complete with enough proof to get the S.C. looking into it) our government actually INVESTIGATED. That’s more than a lot of governments around the world, and we should embrace what little we get out of ours. The Special Council did exactly what it was supposed to do, and proudly. Many people forget that Mueller is a card-carrying Republican, ex-director, and veteran, yet a lesser version of him could have potentially swept all of this under the rug. Mueller works for the law and for us. Which is something that Trump seems to miss, the government does not work for HIM. (<- See Mueller report: Trump states that the next AG should protect him. Barr comes into the picture.)

As Mueller clearly states throughout his report, his service is to the rule of law and that is not something we need to deem dangerous or “sick”. In fact, even remotely applying the word “Treason” to a legitimate investigation, one that fought for our country and it’s citizens, making sure that nobody “is above the law”, is deranged. That is exactly the opposite of what the president should be parroting.

He should be using his ridiculous Twitter Platform and his rambling speeches at events to champion our justice system, instead he makes comments about how “This should never happen again”.

What Donald Trump is proposing, and has proposed in the past is that our government and citizens should NOT be allowed to investigate a sitting president or his administration. That essentially gives full rule allowing a government to descend into dictatorship. If a government and it’s head of government is allowed to do whatever they please without the threat of an investigation, our country is doomed.

United States citizens need to remember it is our right to investigate our government. They work for us, not the other way around. We are lucky enough to still have a government that will turn its eyes inward to police itself. (Of course my friends, our government still has its MANY issues.. but today is about holding on to what little we have.)

To have a sitting president threaten anyone who investigates him, or speaks against him, with the full weight of his office behind him, is a heavy foot into fascism.

To have him call anyone who speaks out against him, or reports information that is not favorable to him, treasonous is a heavy foot into fascism.

We need to wake up America, we’re getting closer and closer to a place we won’t be able to come back from, and nobody seems to care.
