“Don’t like this country? Leave!” – An Anti-American Statement

Standard

It’s almost as if this country is indeed sowing it’s own destruction. As time continues, more and more people are picking up “President” Trump’s statements telling Americans, that if they don’t like what’s going on in the United States, that they should leave. You can see it all over the news, social media and even in real life.

The problem with that, beyond the racist undertones, is that telling people who are not happy with what their government is doing, to just get the hell out is Anti-American. A key part of being American is that we stand up for what we believe is right. Americans don’t just move when shit isn’t going the way we want it to, we stand up and fight. The American people saw a problem with the direction the US is heading, and decided that hey, let’s change that. They elected several new congressmen and women, as is their duty as citizens. Americans have taken to the streets to protest everything from the restrictions placed on women’s healthcare to the “not-concentration camps”, because yet again, Protest is Patriotism. Americans as a whole, have not only the right, but the duty to stay and work on their country and government.

So when citizens do exactly that, when they state that something in our country isn’t acceptable, when they vote people in that work for things they agree with, when they decry fucking human rights abuses, they get told to leave. When an American does something that is their constitutionally given right, not to mention their duty, they’re told “If you don’t like it, go back to where you came from”. (Then of course, insert racist undertones.) Literally telling an American to get out of their own country isn’t only fascistic, it’s not un-American, it’s¬†Anti-American.¬†

It’s also important to point out, for the sake of outing hypocrisy did everyone block out Obama’s entire administration? You know, where the Republicans, Tea Partiers, and Extreme Right lost their collective shit for 8 years straight? You know, where they held the birther movement, claimed democrats were ruining the country because muslims, burned and hung effigies of our President? If they didn’t like it, they should have just left. Fucking hypocrites. They continuously shit on the president, his family, and the democrats left in congress for 8 FUCKING YEARS.. yet when we shit on Trump for acting like a fascist, we get told to leave.

Fuck off with that shit.

Just like many others, I’m about fed up with the Trump Supporters consistent hate rhetoric and blatant, unapologetic hypocrisy. I guess this is more a sheer rant, because I’m tired of their shit. I’m tired of the racism, I’m tired of the sexism, I’m tired of the homophobia, I’m tired of kids in cages, I’m tired of American kids starving because they cut food stamps. I’m tired of the GOD DAMNED President continuing to spew racially charged propaganda that the damned nazis are just eating up.

Guess what MAGA cunts, none of us are going ANYWHERE. We’re done with your Anti-American bullshit.¬†I’M DONE WITH THE BULLSHIT.¬†

We’re all fucking Americans, we’re here to fight for our country, and we’re not going to give up.¬†

My stance on the government has been the same since I was a teenager: The People control government. We are allowed to question, investigate, and even disapprove of our government and our politicians that hold seats with in it. Always.

This includes any investigations into the president, secretary of state, all the way down to local treasurer. The government works for¬†the citizens,¬†period. So now, after the conclusion of the Russia Probe by Robert Mueller, before the results have been released, our president and his cronies are cawing that the report was “Treasonous”, and in r/the_donald, people are literally calling for the¬†Republicans and Democrats¬†that took part in the probe to¬†be hanged for treason.¬†

These are the same people who cheered when Hilary Clinton was investigated, who chant for her to be investigated again, who demanded she be locked up, even after she was found innocent of such accusations.

Yet, when the President, (who seems an awful lot like their messiah) is accused of treasonous activities and miscellaneous crimes those same people are screeching. They are convinced that it’s unconstitutional, treason, and unpatriotic. The President of the United States keeps calling those investigators and anyone who reports on it the Enemy of the State. The only thing that is different? Who is being investigated. When it’s the President? We start hearing rhetoric that sounds an awful lot like fascism.

I don’t understand, and to be frank, I’m scared. You should be too. There is a certain kind of government that demonizes those who speak against it. When any sort of opposition becomes “an attempted coup”, we start toeing the line we fought an entire war to avoid. When the President starts talking about silencing the media, whom risks their lives to bring us current events and information, we goose step right into a fascist state.

Another footstep towards this is the conversation about Nationalism and White Nationalism that is taking place now. If you’ve read my recent blog post, you’ve seen what I’ve written about White Nationalism thriving in the USA right now. Hell, all you have to do is turn on the tv. From within the MAGA camp, from senators to Fox News, you have the argument that Nationalism is a needed component of being a US Citizen. Yet¬†Nationalism often leads to racism, which leads to all sorts of nasty things we learned in the 1930s and 1940s. To justify Nationalism (which is one of the first steps into fascism) they ignorantly confuse patriotism with it.

All of a sudden it’s “patriotic” to want to keep immigrants out (notably it’s only the brown immigrants). You hear the arguments that “they don’t know english” (we don’t have a national language), or that they don’t assimilate to our customs and culture. Make America Great Again, seems to correlate directly with Make America White Again.

When Nationalism = Patriotism, the end result is Fascism.

EDIT: I took a break from writing, scrolled twitter and found this:

Regardless of whom you agree with on border security, it is DANGEROUS territory to accuse people of treason because they disagree with you.

So here we are folks. We are stepping over the line into Fascist territory, and something needs to change. Now. I’m sorry this blog is so scatter brained, but I just don’t know what to think anymore. What I do know, is that our children will read about this era in their text books, and it’s going to rival the civil war. Most importantly, that a large number of our citizens will be on the wrong side of history.

“I reported you for manufactured racism. That’s probably why your comment got deleted. MAGA!”

For once I don’t even know where to start. I feel such utter shame for my country and our fellow citizens. I am so sad and depressed about the state that our country is in, I don’t even know what to say, how to begin to explain it. I have poured two new cups of coffee since I’ve written this paragraph.

So after immense pressure, Facebook has decided to ban white supremacist content¬†from it’s platform. The reason being that white supremacists have been behind so many heinous attacks as of late, and it’s known that they use social networks to organize. Facebook had done the same for ISIS, and it was well accepted, yet for some reason the #MAGA crowd is all up in arms about it.

Here’s a link to an article explaining the ban.

Now, one would think that both parties and their supporters can get behind the stance of “Nazis & hate speech have no place on Facebook or in everyday life”. Yet again, I was mistaken. I scrolled through an article’s comment section, only getting more nauseated as I went. I saw calls for BLM to be banned, as well as Muslims as a whole, even a few people claiming that the KKK & Nazis in the United States doesn’t even exist. A lot of people were saying the media fabricated the story, which led me into a conversation with a very delusional man.

Don’t mind the font change as I switched from my phone to my Chromebook towards the end.

I really could have¬†handled myself better, I could have, but I was getting super frustrated. There was so much I wanted to say that just wasn’t even worth my fingers extending to each letter. Not once did this man denounce white supremacy or nazis, despite me asking repeatedly. Not once did he answer on whether or not he was angry at fox news for using “the race card” just like MSNBC and everyone else did.

He was the stereotypical Trump supporter. He refused to answer any questions, or explain any of his reasoning, or even denounce Nazis. As I told him in the comments, he and people like him is why Trump isn’t gaining followers, and frankly, with this kind of behavior and rhetoric, why would anyone want to be associated with Trump Supporters or more importantly the Republican Party.

You see, I grew up in a Republican Household. My entire family is Republican, hell I hold several conservative view points as one of my friends like to point out. I made the decision to start voting Democrat after disagreeing with some of the Bush Era policies. Then I learned really quickly, through conversation with Republicans, Socialists, and general Leftists during the Obama Administration, that there were things I didn’t like with them either. I learned to question things, have conversations and debates with people (I’ll let his comment about Identity Politics go, as that’s a blog for later). I learned, or had thought I learned, that there is middle ground between the parties.

I had always thought that denouncing racism and white nationalism/supremacy was a given. Why wouldn’t both parties agree that boneheads are bad? Of course there’s those assholes who run around with Confederate flags and seig heil-ing that ruin it for the families who have history in the Confederacy. Shouldn’t we all be condemning them?

As this administration began it’s term, not only did we see a ton of white supremacists pop out of the wood work, sympathiezers and those who turn a blind eye became glaringly obvious. All of a sudden Nazis are marching the street, PROMOTING ON FACEBOOK among other sites, and a large section of Trump Supporters either embrace them or turn a blind eye.

When those of us left cry out about Nazis recruiting via social media, or attempt to get white nationalist sub reddits closed down, we’re told we’re manufacturing the racism, that we’re all making it up for ratings. Then when we try and talk, you know, have conversations.. the way people share their viewpoints.. the Trump Supporters refuse. When we ask why we’re “snowflakes” or what have you, we get “MAGA!!” or “TRUMP 2020!” or straight up accused of “race baiting”, being unpatriotic, or told to get out of the country.

When we show legitimate facts, THINGS THAT HAVE HAPPENED, they refuse to talk to us, crying FAKE NEWS. This is what the Republican Party has become, what used to house wonderful men and women, is now nothing but a violent dumping ground for racism, slurs, classism, and their own propaganda. It’s a sad sad day, but at the same time, I can’t even count how many times I’ve felt shame for this country as of late.

I decided to post about this, and this guy I talked to (without bluring his name, as if he can talk like this on the internet, he should be shown to the world) because I believe it’s pertinent to the current state of the Republican Party and our country. This guy is what people think of when they think of Republicans now. This is one of many faces of that party, and I pray that the party itself wants to change that. We cannot allow such uneducated rhetoric to bounce around our country. As you can see, the guy above has bought into and is parroting the same propaganda that comes out of Fox News, Sarah Sanders and Trump’s twitter account.. despite proof to the contrary. This is the current direction of our country.. a country where a party refuses to denounce Nazis under the guise of Freedom of Speech (which 1. doesn’t protect hate speech and 2. pertains to government entities).

As to those people telling me to get out of my own country? No. You don’t move out of a house because you need to replace the hot water heater, you stay and fix it. Speaking out is Patriotism. Protest is patriotism. None of us “leftists” are going anywhere.
